Join UAF CMENC

Who should join CMENC at UAF?
Anyone with an interest in music education is urged to join! Although the majority of our members are undergraduate music education majors, several others stand to benefit from membership. Ask yourself, "Am I ever going to be teaching music?" If you are a music performance major, graduate student, music minor or an elementary education major, then the answer is "Yes!"

Why join CMENC at UAF?
As a member of a national professional organization, you will have access to many resources on NAfME's website and will receive their monthly publication, the Music Educators Journal. Furthermore, you will receive the journal of the Alaska Music Educators Association. The tips, tricks, research and information offered by these publications are absolutely indispensable for those taking music education courses, student teaching and professionally teaching.
As a member of a dedicated local organization, you will be provided opportunities to take part in research projects, community service and fundraising. The money that we raise is spent to send our students to various music education conferences.
Furthermore, membership in CMENC will look great on your résumé and your participation will make it even easier for Professor Cee to recommend you for a teaching position or graduate school!

How do I join?
Step 1)     Stop by Room 211 in the Fine Arts Complex and introduce yourself to Professor Vince Cee. As the Faculty Adviser for both CMENC and the Music Education program, he is a valuable resource and a good person to know!

Step 2)    Submit a Membership Form to Professor Cee. Student membership is discounted at only $25 per year. A membership card and welcome letter will be sent to your mailing address shortly.

Step 3)    Take advantage of all the new opportunities available to you! Volunteer, conduct research and read the journal articles - do your best to prepare yourself for your chosen profession. Welcome!
